WE WIN AN AWARD FROM THE PEOPLE'S MILLIONS COMPETITION
Thanks to such fabulous support from the local community, we won an award from the People's Millions Big Lottery Fund.
We went head to head with one other project, in our case one from Edinburgh, on Monday 24th November 2008. The winner was chosen by a public vote, and due to our local support, we came out with a grant of over £50,000.
We plan to turn a neglected and underused beauty spot in Linn Park into an accessible one that everyone can enjoy. Work will start early in 2009 on the project, and we hope it will be completed by the summer, providing a facility for all the public to use.
Its your park too, so thanks for helping us invest in it for future enjoyment.
COMMUNITY FUN DAY 2008
Our Community Fun day was a huge success. We were very lucky with the weather, as the rain came down with just 5mins left of the day to go.
We hope you managed to come along and enjoy it with us. If not, watch this space for next years date and don't miss it!
If you did come along, let us know if you had a good day, and what you enjoyed best, so that we are sure to include it next time. Send us an email via the enquiry page.
OTHER FUNDING NEWS
Our funding of over £7,000 from the Awards for All Lottery Fund has now been used to install the display boards seen at the entrances to the park.
If you are a community group who wants to display something on our boards, you can submit it via email, and it will be discussed at the next meeting and installed on the boards if agreed.
We want you to have your say in what happens here, so we hope the boards will encourage you to come and join us.
We have also been lucky enough to be awarded another grant from Glasgow City Council's Area Fund for a Waymarking project. This award of £2,500 will be used to mark out a nature trail in the grounds of Linn Park.
